China-Romania Science and Technology Cooperation Promotes New Impact Hydroforming Equipment

According to local Romanian media reports, Romania's Cluj University of Technology and the advanced plastic processing technology team of the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have successfully developed a new impact hydroforming equipment based on hydraulic accumulators by introducing metal processing theory and testing methods into the equipment design and process experiment process, realizing the precise forming of high-strength aircraft complex plates. Using this equipment can reduce the original processing flow of more than 7 passes to two times, and cancel the manual operation in the process, greatly improving the production efficiency. The equipment is an international initiative and can be widely used in the short process processing of complex plate and tube parts such as automobiles, aerospace and high-speed rail.
Since 2012, Cluj University of Technology in Romania has maintained good cooperation with Shenyang Institute of metals, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and signed a cooperation agreement. The two sides established the "China-Romania Joint Laboratory for Metal Sheet Forming" in September 2017 ".
